GUIDELINES FOR EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REGARDING USE OF THE NPYM DIRECTORY DATABASE
Only Meetings of NPYM or Quaker organizations (regionally, nationally or internationally) who are known to NPYM shall have their requests for use of our directory information considered.
People listed in our NPYM directory will have the opportunity to indicate that they do not want their directory information shared with Quaker organizations or businesses. There is a field where this choice can be made in the updating of Directory information, which is requested yearly from MMs by the NPYM Secretary. The MM will need to make this option known to its members and attenders.
The only charge for any use of our directory addresses or e-mailing files shall be for the costs incurred, only. Unless Executive Committee instructs otherwise, the secretary shall bill for time and materials when sending the information.
There is a difference in asking to use our directory database to request NPYM Monthly Meeting, Preparative Meeting, and Worship Group listings and contact people or to request individual contact information. The first is essentially public information available already on our NPYM website. The second is a more sensitive matter and we use great discretion in granting access to that information.
Based on precedent and previous approval for similar use, the Executive Committe may give approval for the Secretary to distribute the requested information.
Any new request from a new organization or Meeting will be reviewed and decided by the Executive Committee. Any decision will be reported to Coordinating Committee.
