2013:16 Ad Hoc Committee to Evaluate NPYM Structure Discernment: Based on ad hoc Committee to Evaluate NPYM Structure report posted in the plenary room (also at NPYM.org) and on Minute of Exercise from framing process during Plenary #4.

Recommendations:

  1. that a new ad hoc committee be formed to explore improving communication within the Yearly Meeting, to be formed by executive committee and consult with the monthly meetings and report back to the Annual Session next year, and
  2. to continue the life of the Ad Hoc Committee to Evaluate NPYM Structure for another year.

Recording Clerk's Note: The third recommendation of this Committee, that the Annual Session approve the recommendation of the ad hoc Committee on Children's Program Staff, was rendered moot by the approval, during Plenary # 5, of that latter Committee's recommendation.

Minute of Exercise (comments, questions, issues from the plenary floor)

Minute of Decision:

Recommendation #1 : The Annual Session approved the continuation of the work of the ad hoc Committee on Structure Evaluation for another year to continue its analysis and evaluation of Coordinating Committee and return to Annual Session 2014 to report on this work.

Recommendation #2 : The Annual Session approved the formation of a new ad hoc committee to explore improving communication within the Yearly Meeting. In the spirit of recommendation 2 on page 3 of the Summary Report of the Committee dated July 4, 2013, this new ad hoc Committee is charged to collaborate with the ad hoc Committee on Structure and from a frame of reference based on understanding that it is not just the technology and spreading data that matters, but rather a supporting of the deepening of our community and of the connections we have with one another, upon which the growth of our ability to live in the Spirit together depends.. This committee will be formed by Executive Committee and will consult with the monthly meetings, worship groups and isolated Friends and report back to the Annual Session in 2014.

2013:17 Ad Hoc Committee on Relationships with Other Quaker Organizations

Framing: In four reports ( Report of Committee Activities , Report on Existing Relationships , Report on Survey of NPYM Friends re Exiting Relationships , and Report of a Proposal re Traveling Among Friends , posted in the plenary room and at NPYM.org, the Committee gave an account of its activities during the past year and made a recommendation.

Recommendation: that a voluntary fund be created to which Friends can contribute to support NPYM Friends' travel, ministry and visitation among Friends elsewhere and that the Outreach Committee oversee the collection and allocation of such funds as are donated for this purpose.
