CC 7/17.2 Executive Committee
Since the April 2013 CC meeting, the only decisions made by the Executive Committee were: to clarify the charge of the ad hoc committee to consider Annual Session decision making, and to designate its clerk.
CC 7/17.3 Directory Plans
CD copies of the directory will be available, with corrections to be made before print copies are made.
CC 7/17.4 Friends settled into worship to prepare for the week ahead, responding to the following queries:
Areas where your Monthly Meeting or Committee needs help or are lacking?
Although no common issues or leadings emerged, we were able to hear how Truth fares among us.
If you were the Coordinating Committee clerk, what would you do differently?
Focus on where in the YM does this concern belong? Are we the ones who should be making this decision? Is there somewhere else it should be made?
Hold a worshipful awareness while the clerks are putting down words for minutes.
Provide more time to share (with just a little structure); meetings often struggle solo, but we are together and can learn from each other.
Continue reminding the committee to listen and put spirit first (not just agenda-oriented)
Pretend this is the worship plenary next Sunday morning. What might you say?
Quaker process works, and it’s always such a surprise! The impossible is solved.
How does Spirit fare with thee?
One Friend shared his personal spiritual goals for this Annual Session: bring a name to Nominating Committee, become acquainted with five new people, and find a bridge to bring annual session to two absent Friends.
CC 7/17.5 Newcomers to Coordinating Committee were invited to ask questions.
Pearl asked, how can Junior Friends representatives to Coordinating Committee best use these resources to communicate with the Yearly Meeting?
CC 7/17.6 The fall Coordinating Committee meeting will take place October 19, 2013, at Multnomah Monthly Meeting in Portland.
